Begin at the parking lot located next to Boronda Lake. To get here, once you pass the entrance, you turn left at the fork and stop at the first lot that you see. After the park, head down the road away from the fork that you passed after the entrance gate. Start your hike at the Chamise Trail trailhead. Continue on Chamise Trail, staying on the left trail when you reach an intersection. After you reach a road, turn back the way you came. There will be a lot of different plant species along the hike, but the most plentiful will be the chamise shrubs, which the trail is named after.
