Black Mountain of Golds and Greens

This weekend we enjoyed a family backpacking trip in the foothills of Palo Alto, at Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District’s only backpacking camp, at Monte Bello Open Space.  Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!  Weather was great, everyone was safe, kids had a blast, and the site was lovely.  Photos above and below are of some of our favorite moments including (a) marveling at the speed of our Jetboil Stove, (b) Max and Ronin enjoying Pirate’s Booty on a break by the bog, (c) Molly and Sammy taking in the view atop Black Mountain, (d) kids playing dodgeball, catch, trucks, and more, (e) checking out the FAA and Stanford TV/Radio antennae on the top of Black Mountain, (f) hiking up for a sunset view among golden grass and green oaks, just a couple hundred feet from camp, and (g) hanging out with so many cool, nature-loving families!

Stroller Hikes rocks!
