Substitutes rock! Megan, our super awesome Tuesday PM hike leader had to bow out from leadership this week, but Melissa, our wonderful sub, jumped in to lead along San Tomas Aquino/Saratoga Creek Trail, which runs along San Tomas Expressway and has a wonderful starting point for Stroller Hikers at Murdock Park in San Jose (Wunderlich Drive and Castle Glen Avenue).
Maria, with 2-year-old Alex and 6 month-old Oscar, joined Maxwell and I for a Stroller Hike along San Tomas Aquino/Saratoga Trail this afternoon. We saw beautiful, tall cottonwood trees turning yellow along the trail. Maxwell spotted a black squirrel. The Alex and Maxwell darted back and forth a couple of times along the trail before settling into their strollers for the fast-paced part for the Moms. The commute traffic was a little loud, but we all enjoyed the warm pre-sunset sunshine. The kids savored their long play time at the three play structures before and after the hike. The large sand box was the biggest hit.
